Karido and artificial intelligence

Your choice

Karido uses OpenAI to find ideas and choose products. Sharing is optional: you can manage people, events and gifts without AI, and change your mind in Settings.

What is shared

Interests, style, things to avoid, existing gifts, relationship, optional gender, occasion, budget, currency, language and shopping country. Age is shared as a range for ideas and in completed years for choosing offers. For children under 15, only the available preset categories are used: up to eight interest and characteristic choices in total, and six exclusions. From age 15, the optional “What they like” portrait (up to 1,000 characters) and “Avoid” text (up to 300 characters) may be shared; the additional hint is for adult recipients only. A search sends its terms in full. To choose offers and write their descriptions, OpenAI also receives up to eight product titles and categories, and may receive the reference idea’s title and explanation from age 15. A pseudonymous security identifier accompanies requests.

What is not added

Karido does not automatically include names, recipient identifiers, birth dates, exact event dates, contact details or precise location. Free-text fields can still contain anything you write: avoid addresses, health information, secrets and other sensitive or unnecessary details.

After sharing

API data is not used to train OpenAI unless Karido opts in. Response storage is disabled, but security logs may retain content for up to 30 days, or longer for some protection or legal requirements. An encrypted technical cache may last 24 hours. Karido does not claim zero retention.
